Fuel range that knows where the truck stops are
Running low on diesel in a 40-foot rig isn't an inconvenience. It's a problem with very few good answers. RV Compass now knows your tank, works out where you'll hit your reserve on every drive, and suggests stations a big rig can use near that spot.
Tell it about your tank
On your rig, add the tank size and a refuel reserve, the share of the tank you never want to dip into. It starts at 25%, and you can pick 10, 15, 20, 33, or 50% instead. RV Compass multiplies the tank by your rig's MPG to get your range.
Where your reserve runs out
The planner walks the whole trip, outbound and home, assuming a full tank at the start and a fill-up at every stop you mark as Fuel. Every stretch where you'd drop below your reserve is flagged, and the spot where it happens is marked on the map. Move a stop or change the rig and it works it out again.
Stations that fit
Before each reserve point, RV Compass looks for fuel along the route and suggests the three best stations in that window. Each one shows a Truck stop or Diesel badge where it applies, and how far off the route it is. One click adds it as a Fuel stop, slotted between the right two stops. All of this is free on the web.
A fuel gauge in the cab
In Pro navigation there's a Fuel button. Set your level with one tap (full, three-quarters, half, or a quarter), and the gauge counts down your range as you drive. You get a warning when you reach your reserve, and at 50 and 25 miles of range, with the best station in range named in the warning. Open the Fuel sheet and it lists up to five stations ahead, truck stops first for a big rig, with an Add button sized for a thumb in a moving cab.
Stop at a planned Fuel stop for a couple of minutes and the app asks, "Filled up?" Say yes and the gauge resets.
It gets more accurate as you go
The range math is only as good as the MPG behind it. Log fill-ups from the Garage in the app, and RV Compass measures your real MPG from full tank to full tank. Tap Use measured to put that number on the rig. More in your year on the road, and the fuel stops guide covers the planning side.
