The AI Trip Builder that can't make places up

Most AI trip planners are confident liars. Ask one for an RV route and it'll cheerfully send you to a campground that closed in 2019, down a road your rig can't fit on, with a drive time it made up. The RV Compass Trip Builder can't do any of that — and not because we asked it nicely.

It doesn't write your trip. It builds it.

A normal chatbot generates plausible-sounding text from memory. That's exactly why it hallucinates: "a nice RV park near Moab" is a sentence, not a real place. The Trip Builder works a completely different way. It's an agent — a genuinely capable AI that reasons in steps — and it drives a loop over the same real tools you'd use by hand:

• Geocode — turns a city, address, or landmark into a real coordinate. No coordinate, no stop.
• Search places — finds actual RV parks, campgrounds, and fuel stops from our data. When it wants a specific park, it has to look it up, not imagine it.
• Compute route — runs the ordered stops through our RV-safe routing engine and gets back the real per-leg miles and drive hours.

Because every stop it proposes is the output of geocode or search, and every mileage and ETA is the output of the router, there's simply no place in the machinery for a made-up campground or an invented distance to come from. The guardrail isn't a warning in the prompt — it's the architecture.

It proves the drive before it shows you

Here's the part we love. Before the Trip Builder proposes anything, it calls the routing engine toverify the whole plan actually drives — RV-safe, through your rig's dimensions, with honest timing. It's not sketching a dream on a napkin and hoping; it's checked the route the same way you would, just faster. If your request is impossible or too vague to plan, it won't paper over it with a confident guess — it asks you what it needs instead.

You describe it in plain language

All of that hides behind a single sentence. Tell it "two weeks, Moab to Glacier, scenic route, big-rig sites only," and it plans against your rig profile from the first suggestion, so nothing it hands you is something you can't drive. Height, length, weight, propane — baked in, not bolted on.

The AI proposes. You decide.

When it's done, it hands you the finished plan exactly once, with a two-or-three sentence rationale a human would actually want to read.
