About the show

The Tacoma RV Show is a winter RV display and sale held inside the Tacoma Dome, the big wooden-roofed arena beside I-5 in Tacoma's Dome District. The 2027 show runs Thursday through Sunday, January 21 to 24, open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. General admission is $17, and parking is free for the show.

What to expect

The show gathers RV dealers and related vendors under one roof during the quietest stretch of the camping year, which makes it a good time to compare new floor plans and talk through orders for spring. The Dome's event pages have pointed visitors to the show's own site for the exhibitor list and any discount offers, so look there first.

A separate fall show

The arena also hosts the Tacoma Fall RV Show each October under its own name and website. If you search for dates, make sure the listing you find is for the January show and not the autumn one.

Getting there

The Dome sits next to Tacoma Dome Station, a hub for Sounder commuter trains, light rail and regional buses. The venue warns that I-5 Exit 133 is usually closed during busy events and posts recommended routes on its directions page, which is worth a look before you set out.

Weather

January nights are cold here. Bring layers for the walk in from the RV lot, and top off propane before you leave home if you plan to camp. It is one of the wetter months, so pack rain gear for the lots.

Typical weather: NOAA 1991 to 2020 climate normals, measured at TACOMA #1, WA US, 1 miles from the venue.

Getting there and big-rig parking

RV parking on site. Tacoma Dome, 2727 East D Street, Tacoma, WA 98421.

Confirmed on the Tacoma Dome's parking page: overnight RV parking is not allowed, but RVs and buses may park in the Dome's lots during events if there is room, with a charge based on how many spaces the vehicle takes. Every lot is first come, first served. On most event days drivers pay by phone, but the show page lists free parking for the 2027 show; whether that covers an RV taking several spaces is not stated. The event page for the January 2026 show asked drivers to avoid I-5 Exit 133, which is usually closed for high-volume events. At the 2026 fall RV show, guests were told to enter through the Exhibition Hall doors.

Suggestion, not confirmed: arrive right at opening, ideally on Thursday or Friday, and ask the lot staff where a 40 foot motorhome or a truck and fifth wheel should go before you pull in, since you will likely need several spaces in a row. If the lots are full, leave the rig at a campground and come back with the tow vehicle.

Around Tacoma

The Tacoma Dome makes an easy base for a day off the show floor. LeMay, America's Car Museum, sits right beside the arena and is worth a few hours for anyone who likes engines. A short drive or light rail ride north brings you to the downtown museum district along the Thea Foss Waterway, where the Museum of Glass, the Chihuly Bridge of Glass and the Washington State History Museum are all close together.

Point Defiance Park, at the north tip of the city, has a forested loop drive, beaches and the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, and the Ruston Way waterfront between downtown and the park is a good walk on a dry afternoon, with views across Puget Sound.

Expect short days and frequent rain in January. Mount Rainier fills the skyline on clear days, but winter access is limited and vehicles are often required to carry tire chains, so check park conditions before heading that way with a rig. For something closer, Puyallup and Sumner, a few miles east, have small downtowns with cafes and antique shops.

Tips for visiting

  • Skip I-5 Exit 133 on show days; the venue usually closes it for big events and reroutes traffic.
  • Overnight RV parking is not allowed at the Dome, so book a campground nearby and plan to arrive at opening if you bring the rig to the lot.
  • Parking is free for this show, but the Dome itself is cashless, so have a card or mobile wallet ready for food; cash-to-card kiosks are inside.
  • Leave the backpack in the truck: at the 2026 show, the venue banned backpacks and limited bags to 12 by 6 by 12 inches.
  • January in Tacoma is wet, so bring a rain shell for the walk across the lot.
