About the show

The Sioux Empire Sportsmen's Boat, Camping & Vacation Show marks its 60th year in 2027, running Thursday evening, March 11 through Sunday, March 14 at the Sioux Falls Arena & Convention Center. Cenaiko Productions puts it on, along with a sister show in Fargo the week before.

Campers and RVs

The camping section is a genuine RV show inside the larger event. The official site lists motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, truck campers, tent trailers and conversion vans, along with camping accessories, and promises show pricing from area dealers. The 2026 floor included Pleasureland RV of Sioux Falls, Noteboom RV, Bish RV and Steinbring Motorcoach, plus park model homes and a mobile RV repair business.

The rest of the show

Boat dealers bring pontoons, runabouts, fishing boats and personal watercraft. The travel side leans north: fly-in and drive-in fishing camps in Canada and the Upper Midwest, hunting outfitters, safaris and state tourism offices. Families can try the stocked trout pond, and recent years have added a comedy stunt show, a raptor demonstration and fishing seminars. The site still shows the 2026 speakers, so watch it for the 2027 program.

A wristband good for all four days is sold, which helps if you want to compare RV floor plans more than once.

Getting there and big-rig parking

RV parking not confirmed. Sioux Falls Arena & Convention Center, 1201 Northwest Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.

Confirmed: only the address. The show is held at the Sioux Falls Arena & Convention Center, 1201 Northwest Ave, on the city's north side. The show's site says nothing about parking, and the venue's own parking page could not be read for this record.

Suggestions, not confirmed: the arena and convention center sit on a large event campus with wide surface lots, but whether a 40 foot motorhome or a truck and fifth wheel may park there during the show, and where, is unknown. Call the venue before you go. The simplest plan is to set up at a campground such as Tower Campground about 2 miles away and drive the tow vehicle or a car in. Do not count on overnight parking at the venue. If you do bring the rig, arrive at the Thursday 5 pm opening or early Friday afternoon, when the lots are emptiest.

Around Sioux Falls

Sioux Falls is South Dakota's largest city, and the show sits a short drive from its downtown and riverfront.

In town

  • Falls Park, less than 2 miles east, is where the Big Sioux River tumbles over pink quartzite ledges; the falls are worth seeing even when partly frozen, and the park has a visitor center and observation tower.
  • Downtown Phillips Avenue has local shops and restaurants, plus the SculptureWalk outdoor art collection.
  • The Washington Pavilion downtown combines a science center, an art museum and a dome theater, a good pick for a cold or windy day.
  • The Great Plains Zoo and its Delbridge Museum of Natural History keep some indoor exhibits open through the colder months.

Further out

Good Earth State Park, just southeast of the city, protects an ancient Native American gathering site and has a visitor center with trails along the Big Sioux. Interstates 29 and 90 meet on the north edge of town, which makes Sioux Falls an easy stop for rigs heading to the Black Hills or Minnesota lake country once the season opens.

Tips for visiting

  • Thursday runs only from 5 to 9 pm, so plan a full day Friday or Saturday if you want to tour every camper.
  • The $20 four-day wristband costs less than two adult tickets and lets you come back to recheck a floor plan.
  • Parking rules for oversized vehicles at the venue are not published; consider leaving the trailer at your campground and driving the tow vehicle in.
  • March can bring snow and nights in the low 20s; keep tanks and lines protected if you camp in your rig.
