About the show

The Portland Metro Dealers RV Show has been running for close to seven decades. The 2026 edition is billed as the 68th annual show, and it fills Halls A through E of the Portland Expo Center on the north edge of Portland, right off Interstate 5 near the Columbia River.

The show is put on by the Portland Metro RV Dealers Association, a group of local dealers that includes Apache Camping Center, Camping World, Curtis Trailers, Johnson RV and RV Country. Each of them brings a selection from its lots, so one visit covers motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels and smaller towables from several stores at once. The organizers promote financing on site, trade-in appraisals and prize drawings, and the exhibitor page says new vendors are joining for November.

When to go

The show runs Thursday through Sunday. The first three days have longer hours, so Thursday or Friday is the easier choice if you want to climb through big coaches without waiting. Sunday closes earlier and suits shoppers who already have a short list and want time with a salesperson.

Getting there

The Expo Center sits beside Interstate 5 just south of the bridge to Vancouver, and the MAX Yellow Line ends at a station next to the halls. Parking is a paid lot, and the venue sells parking passes ahead of time alongside show tickets.

November nights are cold here. Bring layers for the walk in from the RV lot, and top off propane before you leave home if you plan to camp. It is one of the wetter months, so pack rain gear for the lots.

Typical weather: NOAA 1991 to 2020 climate normals, measured at VANCOUVER PEARSON AP, WA US, 1.8 miles from the venue.

Getting there and big-rig parking

RV parking not confirmed. Portland Expo Center, 2025 North Expo Road, Portland, OR 97217.

Confirmed on the Expo Center's parking page: parking is paid, usually $15 per car per entry and sometimes more during busy events, with cash and cards taken. Passes can be bought online ahead of time. From Interstate 5 northbound use exit 306B for Marine Drive West; southbound use exit 307 for Marine Drive, then follow the signs. The page does not mention RVs, trailers, oversized spaces or overnight parking.

Suggestion, not confirmed: the Expo Center is surrounded by large surface lots, but a 40 foot motorhome or a truck and fifth wheel should call the venue first to ask where oversized vehicles go and what they pay. Plan on no overnight stay at the venue. The simplest choice is to park the rig at a nearby RV park and ride the MAX Yellow Line, which stops beside the halls. The walk from the lots to the halls is in the open, so allow time in the rain.

Around Portland

The Expo Center sits on the north edge of Portland where the city meets the Columbia River, so there is a lot to do within a short drive once the show floor closes.

Right next door, the Smith and Bybee Wetlands is a large natural area with a paved trail and good bird watching in late fall. A few miles west, Kelley Point Park marks the spot where the Willamette joins the Columbia and has easy flat walks along the beaches. Across the bridge in Vancouver, Washington, Fort Vancouver National Historic Site has a rebuilt fur trading post and a walkable waterfront.

If you leave the rig parked, the MAX Yellow Line runs from the Expo Center into downtown Portland, where Powell's City of Books and the food cart pods make an easy afternoon. For a longer day trip, the Columbia River Gorge and Multnomah Falls are roughly 35 miles east along Interstate 84, a wide, RV friendly highway, and the waterfalls tend to run high after the November rains. Sauvie Island, northwest of the city, has quiet farm roads and wildlife areas for a slower outing.

Tips for visiting

  • Buy your parking pass online before you go; the venue sells it with the show tickets and it speeds up entry at the lot.
  • If you are bringing a motorhome or a truck and trailer, aim for opening time on Thursday or Friday, when the lots are emptiest.
  • November in Portland is often wet, so pack a rain shell for the walk between the lot and the halls.
  • Note the length, weight and slide layout of each floor plan you like; five halls of rigs start to blur together by the afternoon.
  • Tickets are good for any one day, so pick your day before you buy.
