About the show

The Kansas City RV Show takes over Bartle Hall at the Kansas City Convention Center, downtown, for one weekend in late January. The 2027 edition runs Friday, January 29 through Sunday, January 31. Visitors enter through the 2200 Lobby.

What is on the floor

Regional dealers bring a wide spread of rigs: compact campers, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, motorhomes and camper vans from the major manufacturers. Smaller booths cover campgrounds and resorts, state park and tourism offices, RV repair and roofing services, storage, accessories and gifts. The organizers describe the hall as roughly 300,000 square feet and expect around 12,000 visitors over the weekend.

Seminars

Talks by RV travel writers and industry speakers have run on Friday afternoon and through Saturday, on topics such as first-time buying, national park trips and destinations within a day's drive. The 2027 speaker list had not been posted as of late October 2026.

Not the only Kansas City RV show

The metro area hosts several RV shows through the year. This one is the downtown show at Bartle Hall, so check the venue on your ticket.

Getting in

Tickets are sold online and at the door. Discounted passes for children, seniors and active military are sold only in person, since they need an ID check. Parking is in nearby downtown garages and lots, which the show does not run.

Weather

Typical weather in January

Nights in January usually drop below freezing here. If you camp, protect your fresh water hose and tanks, and bring layers for early mornings in the RV lot. Snow is common, so check road conditions before you drive the rig in.

Typical weather: NOAA 1991 to 2020 climate normals, measured at KANSAS CITY DOWNTOWN AP, MO US, 1.7 miles from the venue.

Getting there and big-rig parking

RV parking not confirmed. Bartle Hall, 301 West 13th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105.

Confirmed on the show's parking page: the show does not manage downtown parking. It lists surface lots at 1210 Broadway (about 150 spaces) and at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral on West 13th Street, both a short walk away, plus a long list of garages with posted clearances between 6 feet 6 inches and about 8 feet 2 inches. Nothing on the page mentions RV, trailer or oversized parking or overnight stays.

Suggestion, not confirmed: a 40 foot motorhome or a truck and fifth wheel will not fit any listed garage, and downtown streets around the convention center are tight for a long rig. Leave the RV at a campground, drive the tow vehicle or a toad into town, or use a rideshare. If you do try one of the surface lots with a pickup and no trailer, arrive close to opening, since spaces are first come, first served.

Around Kansas City

Bartle Hall sits on the south edge of downtown Kansas City, close to several of the city's best known stops. The National WWI Museum and Memorial, on the hill across from Union Station, is a short drive south and can easily fill an afternoon. Union Station itself has a science center and exhibit space, and the Crossroads Arts District between the two is full of galleries, coffee shops and restaurants.

East of downtown, the 18th and Vine Jazz District holds the American Jazz Museum and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, which share a building. Farther south, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art has free general admission and a sculpture park, and the Country Club Plaza nearby is a walkable shopping district with Spanish-style buildings.

Kansas City barbecue is reason enough for the trip, and many of the well known joints are within a few miles of the convention center. Down by the Missouri River, the River Market area has the Arabia Steamboat Museum, built around cargo recovered from a steamboat that sank in 1856. In late January, plan for indoor stops and short walks.

Tips for visiting

  • Leave the RV at a campground or your hotel: every downtown garage on the show's parking list has a height limit of about 8 feet or less.
  • Buy discounted child, senior and military passes at the door or at the Municipal Auditorium box office ahead of time; they are not sold online.
  • Get your hand stamped at the info desk if you step out, or you will not get back in the same day.
  • Late January in Kansas City is often below freezing, so keep a winterized rig winterized and bring a warm coat for the walk from the garage.
